And now, we’re back after the summer. I spent most of August in Ireland, and the inspiration for this edition comes from my little country. We have music from Dublin with Poseidon84 and Industrial Lies, although I sadly missed the label night this year in Dublin. Another source of ideas, also from Ireland, is Blindboy‘s podcasts, and this month we explore references between house and techno. More techno from Bradley Strider, Death in Vegas, and Ryan James Ford with all three delivering their own expression of the sound with savage results. Refreshed with a steady flow of soothing music

Although the heat has arrived with brutality to Madrid, we have been refreshed with a steady flow of soothing music. New records, electronic nights and even opportunities in the booth. So much inspiration in this edition. On the one hand, the re-release of Gravity by Monolake and we have more examples of techno by Stasis, martinou and Ryan James Ford. In April, I shared the booth with our mate Kubo at Nueva Montacargas and we have some stuff we played for a fantastic night. The root of the music that night is IFM and we just got back from The Hague where they put on an unforgettable weekend. We were there with good friends and met more like Robyrt Hecht and Otto Kraanen. There are no words on this planet; out of this world! More and more, District 91 nights, transmission is from Kintsugi with the Undancel team; we have been there and their influence is included with acid, braindance, electro, house, italo and techno records.

 For our fourth booth link-up with Asturian selector Mora and a first-time session with Mexico’s Dani Wais, we recorded a two-hour, genre-spanning b2b2b live at Radio Relativa.

Sharing the booth

For the fourth time, we have the pleasure of sharing the booth with our friend, an Asturian selector who has played all over Spain, we are with Mora. And, for the first time, we are accompanied by a good friend, a DJ and producer from Mexico: Dani Wais. The session has many styles, acid, electro, italo, house, new beat and techno, a two hour b2b2b that was recorded live and direct in the heart of Radio Relativa. The new year is here, and we return to a tradition we started six years ago. Following up our own best of 2025 here at Igloo, we’ve gone back to the shelves to choose the best albums and references from the last twelve months. As is our other tradition, the rules of the last twelve months are slightly bent. Most of our selection was released in 2025, by labels such as Library of the Occult, Clone, R.A.N.D. Muzik, Unusual Systems, Who is Paula, and Warp Records. We have reissues, classics by Aphex Twin and Sabres of Paradise, alongside gems we found last year.

WE FORFEIT + Leonid @ Nuevo Montacargas (Madrid)

 

Acid ambient to techno bliss

This month, we have a two hour recording of a session of over four hours that I did with a good friend and a great musician; Paul Smith better known as Leonid. We had the pleasure of sharing the booth again, this time at Nuevo Montacargas. Leonid is an Irish producer who has been based in Madrid for a few years now. If he is not releasing records on labels like Statik Entertainment, Sistrum Recordings, Dolly Records, Lunar Disko Records, Photic Fields, Freebeat, Eleve, D1 Recordings and more, Leonid is playing in the best places in Europe like Berghain (Berlin), Tresor (Berlin) and more clubs in France, Croatia, Greece, Spain and of course Ireland.

This two hour session is focused on styles such as acid ambient, bleep, electro, house and techno with the softer side of these genres explored from the booth. No tracklist for this one, just some cracking music from artists like Cignol, E.R.P., and Steve Tang from labels like Down Low Music, M>O>S and Furthur Electronix.
